Parents Day

Saturday, May 22 was held in the courtyard of our school party. This year we tried to involve children and devote our attention to them. The games designed for elementary school children for both boys had an average success: many took part and thanks to their enthusiasm, the festival was successful. Unfortunately, as required by the "first time", the inexperience created difficulties and for this we apologize. The people of the Parents' Committee who organized the party, believe me, they put heart and soul into what they do, but not always what you thought on paper, then fails in practice. The commitment is to make good use of all criticism, errors, many positive aspects all need to improve on and your next party will be even better. Economically we have collected just over € 2400: result which seems of little importance given the box office last year, but we must remember that the lottery we anticipated at Easter. Considering therefore the lottery and the party together, we have exceeded 5000 €. In addition, we have already paid their caps and T-shirts: This investment has enabled us to obtain a better price supply, but are still for sale and we expect a revenue of about € 1800. I would say that the work has certainly paid all our efforts. I wait for the next steps and I thank you from my heart: the result must be shared with those who have worked hard for the school and our children. Thanks.

Legends, Part 2

The last few lines posted on the blog has been devoted to the stages of construction and inauguration. I would now like to step back, focusing on various photographic projects of which has not yet spoken in this space.
At this point, present the work done by my colleague Daniel, which is directly related to the previous post "Legends."
Daniel describes his work this way:
"... I started to investigate the history of" legendary "in this country. Every place has its own legends in the world (me, coming from South Tyrol know well ... ), so I asked: "Why not try to understand this place through words and imagery of his predecessors Albanian boys? ". I discovered a very interesting story (see previous post).

The only problem was finding Shqipëtar but I would not have been able to work with a method so "logical" in connection with a subject so abstract. We started as an adventure within (and outside) the city. We were in the mountains, photographing the places and the promontory of eagles. We visited markets, harbors, temples and photographed people. At this point the project became something else, other than how I would have expected, even better. I started to try to understand that culture. I have found, for example, the food extraordinary and the people who have been able to show hospitality that I will never more be found in different places. What I can not therefore be limited only to the sphere of the "workshop", was something that I will always be in my heart. "

Legends ..

" A young man was hunting the mountains, an eagle hovering above him alighted on top of a cliff. The eagle was extraordinarily impressive and clutching a snake in its beak. After a while, 'the eagle flew away from the ridge where he had a nest. The boy then climbed on top of the cliff where he saw the nest, the little eagle playing with the dead snake. shooting revealing its sharp teeth and ready to penetrate the eagle with a deadly poison. Suddenly, the youth took a bow and arrow and killed the snake. Then he took the eaglet and started for home. Suddenly the young man heard a thunderous sound, the blend was of the huge wings of the eagle.
"Why kidnap my son?" Cried out the eagle. "The baby is mine, because I saved from the snake that you did not killed," replied the boy.
"Give me back my son," said the bird of prey "and I will give as a reward the sharpness of my eyes and the powerful strength of my wings. You will become invincible, and my name will be praised. "
Then the boy gave the eagle. The latter was growing up, and always flew over the head of the boy, now a man, with his bow and arrows killed many wild beasts with his sword slew many enemies of those lands. During all these companies, the eagle faithfully watched him and guided him down. Astounded by the deeds of the brave hunter, the people of that land the crowned king and called him "Shqipëtar" (Albanian), which means "son of the eagle" and his kingdom became known as "Shqipëria" (Albania) or the Land of Eagles ".

Welcome back. Thursday, May 6th we hosted Dr. Daniele Novara, educator, consultant, trainer and director of the Center for Peace and Psicopedagogico conflict management CPP Piacenza. The occasion fortemete desired by the Parents' Committee, was favorable to all of us to give parents a small lead in the growth of our children, rediscovering the role of education. Finally, after much effort, it's long-awaited moment of the inauguration

All photographs on display retrace our unique experience in Vlora, a journey through unknown landscapes and faces of those who live this reality every day, every project includes a summary of this world, so articulate and interesting, not excluding the many emotions and will not be forgotten.
