" A young man was hunting the mountains, an eagle hovering above him alighted on top of a cliff. The eagle was extraordinarily impressive and clutching a snake in its beak. After a while, 'the eagle flew away from the ridge where he had a nest. The boy then climbed on top of the cliff where he saw the nest, the little eagle playing with the dead snake. But the snake was not really dead! Suddenly it moved
shooting revealing its sharp teeth and ready to penetrate the eagle with a deadly poison. Suddenly, the youth took a bow and arrow and killed the snake. Then he took the eaglet and started for home. Suddenly the young man heard a thunderous sound, the blend was of the huge wings of the eagle.
"Why kidnap my son?" Cried out the eagle. "The baby is mine, because I saved from the snake that you did not killed," replied the boy.
"Give me back my son," said the bird of prey "and I will give as a reward the sharpness of my eyes and the powerful strength of my wings. You will become invincible, and my name will be praised. "
Then the boy gave the eagle. The latter was growing up, and always flew over the head of the boy, now a man, with his bow and arrows killed many wild beasts with his sword slew many enemies of those lands. During all these companies, the eagle faithfully watched him and guided him down. Astounded by the deeds of the brave hunter, the people of that land the crowned king and called him "Shqipëtar" (Albanian), which means "son of the eagle" and his kingdom became known as "Shqipëria" (Albania) or the Land of Eagles ".
